Walking Through John's Wounded Heart

by Tails Azimuth

John’s letters carry a tone that many believers identify with immediately: love under pressure.

Loss is often spiritual as much as emotional. It can make prayer sound like paperwork:

  • saying the right words,
  • hoping nothing changes,
  • and hoping nobody notices.

The answer in Scripture is not to suppress grief but to let it become holy space.

Jesus at the home of friends

When your heart is wounded:

  • Name your grief.
  • Anchor to one verse without argument.
  • Invite community to speak with you.
  • Rest in the One who weeps with you.

That is not emotional avoidance. It is mature hope.
